A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM MASTER STEHLIK
It is a gift for me to be able to teach Taekwondo and share my passion for this art with others. To encourage, inspire and guide others to reach their goals is a rare opportunity which I am blessed to be able to experience. As a Master Instructor I have the responsibility of passing down the knowledge of a heritage and cultural tradition going back thousands of years. Instilling the philosophy and tenets of Taekwondo in students and encouraging a non-violent approach to the world makes our world better.
At Fit2Fight Martial Arts we are training in the art of Taekwondo. Through hard work and dedication you will see yourself progress through our belt ranks. Please keep in mind – we are not selling a fashion accessory. Each belt rank will be earned and have meaning. We will not fill you with false confidence. You will learn all techniques the right way and challenge you to be your best. I urge you to enjoy your training, work hard and have fun, and the belts will come naturally.
The word “master” implies perfection; having conquered a skill or technique to the highest level. I am not perfect – no one is perfect, but we constantly strive for perfection. We must continue to progress and set goals. It is easy to become complacent and continue to train doing things that have become effortless to us; that is human nature.
Learning is endless – take every opportunity for knowledge. The more we learn and push ourselves to higher limits, we become not just better martial artists, but better people. My goal is to develop caring, selfless, mentally-strong individuals that can deal with any situation thrown at them in life.
As an Instructor, the highest compliment I can receive is for my students to surpass me; to see that what I have taught is practiced and brought to a higher level. I strive to build upon the next generation of students to continue these teachings, beliefs, and traditions of Taekwondo. Be humble in your accomplishments. Be caring and courteous. Show patience and respect. Be loyal and honorable. Live the ‘way’ of Taekwondo.
